The Committee on Climate Change’s July 2019 report published that the UK has fallen behind in progress to tackle and prepare for climate change, warning that targets will not be met unless the government urgently delivers critical policies to get emissions reductions back on track. *

Westminster Insight’s half-day forum will examine plans to achieve net-zero targets, discuss energy efficiency measures for buildings and explore initiatives and technologies to accelerate the decarbonisation of the energy sector.

This fourm will explore the potential impact of the COVID-19 crisis on accelerating the green agenda, record-low oil and gas prices and how new investments can create jobs post-Covid-19 while delivering the European Green Deal objectives.

Lord Deben will be chairing the day, allowing there to be a CCC voice throughout, whilst Laura Sandy’s will be giving you insight into unlocking the potential of data sharing across the energy system to support decarbonisation.

This conference will explore what measures government, businesses, and society must take to reduce emissions, with a particular focus on how technology and innovation can be used to accelerate the modernisation of the system and implement major changes.

Join your peers and thought leaders from the energy industry and central government to gain practical strategies that can support the transformation of the energy sector and lead the way to a greener future.
